THE ORIGIN OF ASSOCIATION DES TRANSPORTEURS AGREES AU RWANDA (A.T.A.R)

1.1 BACKGROUND.

The international transporters of Rwanda came together and formed an association of transporters
and named it Association des Transporteurs Agrees au Rwanda (A.T.A.R).
On that very day they created a committee and the following were members

2. SDV-RWANDA: MUTIJIMA J.B
3. SORWATRACO: KAYOMBYA ROBERT
4. WORD FRIEGHT
5. UNION TRANSPORT RWANDA: NSENGIYUMVA ERIC
6. Ets RUBANGURA: RUBANGURA Védaste
7. Ets MUSONI Thaddee: MUSONI Thaddee
8. Ets MIRONKO: BANTURIKI Dévaste
9. HAKIZIMANA Dévaste.

2.1 MISSION

• Finding the solutions to the problems they are facing.
• Advocacy for transporters
• Revising means for transporter to find employment either with in the country or outside its
  borders.

The association did achieve all its goals but like as every inch of Rwanda the association was
destroyed by the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi and after the genocide the member found it difficult
to re-organise again hence the association being dormant.

3.1 REANIMATION OF A.T.A.R

On 23/08/2019 PSF called forth a meeting of all international transporters and it was delegated by
the president of PSF.

4.1 GOALS

• Electing a committee
• Establishing the Executive committee

DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE

• Preparing general meeting
• Describing in details the duties of the executive committee.

6.1 ACHIEVEMENTS

• Registration of the association in all the ministries MINICOM, MININFRA and all the
  organization with transport in their duties.
• Revising transport as a sector and attending all the meetings in question and giving
  suggestions in prospect to transport.
