Association des transporteurs des personnes au Rwanda ( ATPR) was created on December 14^th 2010, according to the constitution of the republic of Rwanda of June 04/2003 as modified and completed to today, especially in its article 35,and also to the law 13/2009 of 27 May 2009 regulating labour in Rwanda especially in its articles 101 and 105 given statutes of the Rwandan private sector federation, considering the rapid transformation process of the national economy and the persons common remunerated transport market.

2. OBJECTIVES OF ATPR

• Organize efficiently common transport of passengers in Rwanda.
• Protect the common interests of its members
• Develop cooperation between member companies as well as cooperation with foreign markets.
• Represent member companies before public institutions and in all other institution where a common action is deemed necessary.
• Study the measures to propose to members companies in order to keep good understanding within the profession.
• Facilitate communication and solve all the problems means of concertation and arbitration.
• Initiate diverse studies in relation with common transport of passengers ensure the management and administration of any operation common to the profession
• Centralize and harmonize all information and data relating to common transport of passengers
• Facilitate the advocacy for members about parking, offices rent price
• Advocacy to our members in different areas of the country.

5. THE AREA OF ACTIVITIES

Association de transporteurs des personnes au Rwanda, shall carry out its activities all over the Rwandan territory and around in the EAC.

6. MEMBERSHIP

The association has two categories of members

• Founder member which are member companies which have participated to the constitutive general assembly of the association. now days association has twenty five members(26 companies)
• Adherent members which are all other institutions dealing with remunerated common transport of persons in Rwanda, fulfilling the required conditions and having subscribed to the statutes of the association.

The loss of membership shall be caused by the following reasons after written application to the president of the association who shall submit it to the approval of the next general assembly.

• Voluntary resignation of a member
• Expulsion by the general assembly
• Liquidation of member company

7. THE STRUCTURE

The association has the following organs:

• The general assembly
• The executive board
• The permanent secretariat
• The auditing committee

8. THE RESOURCES AND PATRIMONY OF THE ASSOCIATION

The resources of the association is come from to the contributions of the members ,donations, legacies and subsidies, the general assembly have all latitude to decide upon the resources of the association.
