The association is under the umbrella of Private sector federation with in the wing of Chamber of commerce and service the following are classes of the association.

1. VISION STATEMENT
Rwanda association of wholesalers and retailers house a vision to develop and pro- mote trader by widening the business environment in Rwanda .The association holds this mantle through providing adequate information to members and also building their capacity to meet international standards.
2. MISSION STATEMENT
Rwanda association of wholesalers and retailers upheld a mission to formalize the wholesale and retail entities by developing mutual understandings form it members, this will lead to simplification of trade in Rwanda hence developing our nation to a middle class income house.
3. GOAL STATEMENT
• Promoting our members through a collective advocacy
• Work hand in hand with government organizations to moderns the trading atmosphere which will benefit our members
• Business matching making between our members which will boost the wealth of our members.
4. OBJECTIVES
• Advocacy:
Every issue being faced by any member per her/his request will be addressed to her/his satisfaction in order to protect our member’s interests.
• Membership based:
Develop a vast membership base which in return will benefit each and every member, the bigger we are the stronger we are to achieve every milestone we set for ourselves.
• Information:
Develop an information system which help in data storage and data analysis and mostly provide the required information to our members, information is the back bone of trade so as a promotion tool access to infor- mation of all sorts will be easy provided to our members.
ADVANATAGES
• Capacity building:
Members are trained on all kinds of business related activities eg Tax declaration and tax reforms, export and import procedures and routes, advertisement tools and E-marketing.
• Information:
Members have access to our database which helps them in decision making and identify- ing business opportunities form an informed point of view.
• Networking:
Our members participate in international and regional meeting that canvas the private sector. This gives our members a chance to meet other businesses head to head to learn and establish connection to other form of practices.
• Market:
Both where and when are questions answered to our members, where to get products to trade and when to get these specific products?
• Advocacy:
Any issue that our member faces either locally or international wise our association intervenes on his/her behalf.
